The hotel was visited by some celebreties this past weekend and can I say that I'm glad they've left. Don't get me wrong, they're all pretty nice but things get completely turned upside down when they come to visit. Example, Robin Leech from Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous came by for dinner on Saturday. His girlfriend ripped a hole in her stockings..he comes to the front desk to see if we could arrange to get some as well as a 20 pack of Marlbouro cigarettes (which they don't sell in Canada) He had asked me if I could get the taxi driver to pick them up when he comes to get them and to have the hotel they were staying at just pull the panty hose from the gift shop and leave them in their room...simple enough right...WRONG! The owner of the hotel came by and saw me on the phone trying to prepare this all and said "No don't bother doing that we'll just go and get them" Of course we will and by "we going to go get them" eventually meant the bellman, and myself going in the rickety, cold, old pickup at 9:30pm to the gas station to pick up smokes and to the spa managers house to pick up panty hose ( I had to go cause you can't send a man to get panty hose!) We came back and I brought them into Mr. Leech and his girlfriend who were very appretiative, but that is a classic example of celebrities getting special treatment..I ALMOST DIED IN THE TRUCK!!!
Than we had Alec Baldwin and his entourage join us for dinner on Sunday night. His entourage included Alicia Silverstone (who I didn't see) Jonathan Silverman (think Weekend at Bernie's), his wife Jennifer Finnigan (ummm..think The Bold & Beautiful) and Marica Gay Harden (think Mona Lisa's Smile)
So the dinning room decides to put them upfront for everyone to see..great idea! So people are walking by staring, and of course us staff as well, but than you realize, yeah their famous (sort of) but they're kind of annoying (cause they were so loud) It's like they wanted to let everyone know they were here. At one point a couple of them were out in the lobby saying to each other "OMG we sooooooo have to get together, I'll sooooo come see you in LA...blah blah blah"
Just seemed so fake. I mean they were nice enough to the staff but it felt a little weird having them there. I was happy at the end of the night to go back to my normal, mundane life..playing poker at number 10!
Yesterday was nice. Pascal and I had the day off together. We had said we were going to go to the hill that day and go skiing/boarding but of course we just stayed in bed till noon since we were both up late. Went over to Everette and Ashly's and watched 3 strange movies..Gone, Baby Gone (about an abducted child) Burn after Reading (very strange but funny in parts) and Before the Devil knows your Dead (about two brother's who plan a bank heist that goes horribly wrong) All good but really weird in parts and some of them were reaaalllyy loonnnggg. Oh well a good way to past the night.
Day off today so I'm going to call some people. Who know's it might be you! :)

Skating at the Chateau
Well I was suppose to go skating with Chloe and Lance over at the rec center
today..at least that's what I thought when I walked over there and read a sign that said "Rink closed till 7pm" which you know what that means..friggen Hockey game at 7pm :( Luckily I ran into them back at Pinnacle and they were getting ready to head into a cab up to the chateau to skate. So I joined along even though I have a little fear of skating on frozen lakes.

So I joined along even though I have a little fear of skating on frozen lakes. We got up there and saw there were a few people on the ice and no one falling through so that was a good sign to proceed ahead.
I forget how tiring skating can be when you are not a kid..and how the fear of falling is greater than I imagined, but still a good time. So after we had our fill of skating we decided to head back home but before we left this woman asked us where we rented our ice skates and we told her the down in the village. She thanked us and that was it but as she was talking to us I thought to myself she looks really familiar. Afterwards I said to Chloe "I think that was Marcia Gay Harden" Chloe didn't know who that was but when I came back home and looked it up on the Calgary Herald website to see who was here at the Celebrity weekend up at the Chateau and sure enough she was on the list ..so..there!
Last night was fun too. Went over to Ashly's and Annika was there as well. Got into the wine and whisky (such a great combination!) than headed over to the spa house to join the others for a little drinking. After being there for an hour (and aquired some new clothes and bag from Danielle that she didn't want anymore, score!) I decided it was time to go so Annika and I left and found more people drinking outside at the ice bar..so what can you do but grab a glass and join in. Probably wasn't very smart of me since I had to work at 6:30am the next morning but I figured hey, not like I have a lot to do at work anyway. Good times :)

Day off
Ah nothing better than sitting around in your PJ's all day..although it is 10 min to 2 here and I kind of feel like a bum even though it's my day off..well at least I'll go have a shower.
Yesterday was a nice day off. After brunch yesterday Pascal and I did our laundry together..sort of. Seperate loads but we did them pretty much at the same time. Before that we went to the village to do some erands with Simon, Cecile and Marian. We put in a money order for Pascal's internet but me thinking that a money order would be the fastest thing for him to do was not overly that fast since he still has to send it out in the mail to them. This internet company that we are with are really strange. They don't put an account number on their bills so we can't set up some kind of online or instant bill payment plan. They sent Pascal his last bill in a USED ENVELOPE WITH TAPE OVER THE ENDS! Very professional, I know you are trying to save paper but you are running a business here people!
So after that we went to the market and than back home again. We checked to see what the gang was up to for supper but they already ate so I treated Pascal to the Family restaurant at the B & G that he had never been to before. He really liked it! I was glad, it was nice I could treat him since he went all out these last couple of days.
Then came back to his place and watched "The Number 23" That was a weird movie, I just couldn't wrap my head around the concept of it. Plus the ending I thought was really out there! Oh well it was somewhat entertaining. Then watched some Drawn Together and went to bed.
Today I'm off but Pascal isn't so I'll go see what Ashly's up to. Maybe we'll go skating :)

Great Birthday!
which I find really makes up for the crappy holiday season I had.
Pascal really outdid himself. We left here at around 4pm yesterday when our friend Joel came to pick us up. We got there, got our keys and when we got to our room...wow! It was so beautiful. I copied a picture from the website here to give you an idea of what it looked like. It was really nice. Fireplace, jacuzzi, large bed, patio, just really a great room!
Dinner was also really great. I had the bison poutine and Pascal had the rabbit. All in all really good! We had chocolate pate with chocolate ice cream for dessert and I can I just say OMG!!!!!! That must be what Heaven tastes like haha!
Pascal had also, on top of everything else got me a beautiful Post Hotel and Spa bathrobe! It is gorgeous ( I also added a picture of this as well) He is so sweet and did way to much. He thought of everything..wine, food, great location! I have to do something pretty amazing for his bday coming up in March.
Our friends Simon and Melany picked us up today and I tell ya it was pretty hard leaving there. It was like we had the whole place to ourselves. Just a really great bday!
We just finished having brunch at Melany and Simon's that Pascal was so kind enough to make. Really good omelettes! Now we're just taking a little break and then we might go skating today..yay!
Thanks again to everyone for the bday wishes! It really was a great day!

Bday tomorrow!
I am super excited about my bday tomorrow. Not just cause I'm getting another year closer to death..oh no! I found out last night from Pascal that he is taking me away for my birthday to the Baker Creek Chalets. He is so sweet! He found out from my colleague at the front desk that that was where I had wanted to go for a while so he had her make a reservation there for tomorrow. In a jacuzzi suite! Woo hoo!!! Plus we have dinner reservations there for 8pm tomorrow night. That means I get to dress up all girlie like tee hee :D. I went to the spa to Danielle cause she had wanted to know where we were going and she said that he was already in there and told her where we were going. I asked "why was in there?" she's like "hmm..I don't know" Then I guessed that he bought me something but she wouldn't tell me what. So excited now! He's really gone all out and he doesn't need to. Really looking forward to tomorrow! Will keep you updated!
:D

Yay Dexter!
So Sarah from work has loaned me season 1 of Dexter, which I started to really get into before I left for Alberta in the summer. It is such a good show! Can't wait to find out who the mystery killer is. Might watch one more episode before I head to the OutPost to catch a late supper.
Still have my horrible cough but feel tonnes better :)
Work tomorrow morning at 6:30am (urgh!) but then work the next day at 2:30pm (yes!) At least I get to sleep in. The next day after that is my bday (yay...27...yay....) Oh well, it probably won't be so bad. Gonna probably head to the OutPost and celebrate with some people. Not sure yet entirely but will finalize it soon.
Anyway, back to more Dexter :D

Feeling not too bad
Ok so it's 3:00am in the morning and I just woke up and can't get back to sleep. Woke up coughing up a storm but I think that is good news cause that seems to be the only thing wrong with me now (thank God!) Last two days I've gone into work which doesn't seem like a good idea I know but someone has to do the shifts. Good thing we have hand sanitizer :) Everyone has been super nice to me about it. Pascal was so sweet the other day, he made me tea from scratch! Ginger, sage, lemon, it was soo good! He even had Jamie bring it to me at the front desk. What a guy!
Well now I'm off for two days..yay! What to do..rest? I've done so much of that but it is good for the common cold. Maybe I'll call some people. Send off my cards..definatley!
That's it for now :)

Sick as a dog!
So I seem to have contracted some cold virus that is going around work and boy has it knocked me out. I had to babysit today for one of the ladies at work and I couldn't keep up with her daughter, Emma (who's absolutely adorable) Just basically sat there imobile. Poor kid, great babysitter eh. Right now i'm having some good ole fashion chicken noodle soup..ok it's from a can..that's the best I can do :D
New Years eve was another interesting holiday. Worked till about 11 than rushed home to get ready for the spa girls costume party. Pulled whatever i had in my closet that would resemble a costume.. I went as a Hawahian chick..sure why not. So I get there and all the girls are already plastered! Fun...so I thought this won't do at all and Ashly brought me over some whiskey and coke and I chugged that down...ah much better! Now I'm good and a little plastered but still missing the person I really wanted to be with for New Years cause he had to work :( So I did what any good drunk eastcoaster would do..I ran over to his place (in my skirt and slippers) in the snow and was able to catch him and wish him a Happy New Year :) I didn't have to work till 2:30 the next day (Thank God!) but my hangover wasn't that severe.
So I am contemplating my plans for this year, travel wise and I am really gung ho about going to Ireland. If I'm gonna go in April I have to get my visa and passport all in order. Still not a 100% sure how's it going to work out since I don't want to miss my cousins wedding in June and I definatley can't miss Ellens' wedding which they are thinking is going to be the end of August. Well it will all workout.
I think I'm starting to halluceinate so I'm going to call it a day.
