Celebrities..eck!

The hotel was visited by some celebreties this past weekend and can I say that I'm glad they've left. Don't get me wrong, they're all pretty nice but things get completely turned upside down when they come to visit. Example, Robin Leech from Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous came by for dinner on Saturday. His girlfriend ripped a hole in her stockings..he comes to the front desk to see if we could arrange to get some as well as a 20 pack of Marlbouro cigarettes (which they don't sell in Canada) He had asked me if I could get the taxi driver to pick them up when he comes to get them and to have the hotel they were staying at just pull the panty hose from the gift shop and leave them in their room...simple enough right...WRONG! The owner of the hotel came by and saw me on the phone trying to prepare this all and said "No don't bother doing that we'll just go and get them" Of course we will and by "we going to go get them" eventually meant the bellman, and myself going in the rickety, cold, old pickup at 9:30pm to the gas station to pick up smokes and to the spa managers house to pick up panty hose ( I had to go cause you can't send a man to get panty hose!) We came back and I brought them into Mr. Leech and his girlfriend who were very appretiative, but that is a classic example of celebrities getting special treatment..I ALMOST DIED IN THE TRUCK!!!

Than we had Alec Baldwin and his entourage join us for dinner on Sunday night. His entourage included Alicia Silverstone (who I didn't see) Jonathan Silverman (think Weekend at Bernie's), his wife Jennifer Finnigan (ummm..think The Bold & Beautiful) and Marica Gay Harden (think Mona Lisa's Smile)
So the dinning room decides to put them upfront for everyone to see..great idea! So people are walking by staring, and of course us staff as well, but than you realize, yeah their famous (sort of) but they're kind of annoying (cause they were so loud) It's like they wanted to let everyone know they were here. At one point a couple of them were out in the lobby saying to each other "OMG we sooooooo have to get together, I'll sooooo come see you in LA...blah blah blah"
Just seemed so fake. I mean they were nice enough to the staff but it felt a little weird having them there. I was happy at the end of the night to go back to my normal, mundane life..playing poker at number 10!

Yesterday was nice. Pascal and I had the day off together. We had said we were going to go to the hill that day and go skiing/boarding but of course we just stayed in bed till noon since we were both up late. Went over to Everette and Ashly's and watched 3 strange movies..Gone, Baby Gone (about an abducted child) Burn after Reading (very strange but funny in parts) and Before the Devil knows your Dead (about two brother's who plan a bank heist that goes horribly wrong) All good but really weird in parts and some of them were reaaalllyy loonnnggg. Oh well a good way to past the night.

Day off today so I'm going to call some people. Who know's it might be you! :)

  1. Yeah, Adam and I saw 'Burn After Reading' in the theater. I thought it was hilarious. Very very stupid, but so stupid that it was hilarious. Come on.... admit it - when did you figure out what he was building in the basement?
